Course Memo

This course provides the opportunity to apply knowledge gained from classroom instruction to the computed tomography clinical setting. Through structured, sequential, competency-based clinical assignments, concepts of team practice, patient-centered clinical practice and professional development are discussed, examined and evaluated. Emphasis is placed on patient centered care, positioning, protocols, procedures and image production in computed tomography. Healthcare legal and ethical considerations are also discussed. Upon completion, students should be able to assume a variety of duties and responsibilities within the computed tomography clinical environment and meet the necessary requirements to apply to take the ARRT Computed Tomography Registry Examination. Clinical education is conducted at a clinical facility. Prerequisite: Admission to the program, or permission of Instructor. Credit: 6 hours.
