Applied Statistics & Research Methods (IHS501)

Course Memo

Students will explore the advantages and disadvantages of experimental and non-experimental designs, various sampling methods, and quantitative and qualitative data collection. Special emphasis is placed on developing the student’s ability to understand and evaluate scientific research. Topics include: hypothesis formulation, organization, correlation, regression and interpretation of statistical methods used in business and healthcare. Students will deconstruct a research study and evaluate the content. Prerequisites: MAT 201. Credit: 3 hours.
