Course Memo

This course is designed to provide the associate degree level surgical technologist an opportunity to apply the surgical technology competencies acquired in the core courses to a surgical technology project in a specialty area of surgical practice. This project will represent a compilation of the student’s experience in a clinical setting, performing the duties of a scrubbed technologist and healthcare leader. Students will create an advanced surgical research project exploring the interaction of all healthcare professionals involved in optimal patient outcomes. Pre-requisite: Successful completion of all courses in the Associate Degree Surgical Technology curriculum Credit: 3 hours.
