Course Memo

This course provides an in-depth study of clinical practices as they pertain to successful preparation, performance, and completion of core and specialty surgical procedures. Emphasis is placed on the safe use of instruments, equipment, and supplies in basic surgical preparation. Also included are surgical pharmacology, care of specimens and emergency procedures. This course provides operating room experience in affiliating medical centers under the supervision of the instructor and operating room nurse educator. Pre-requisites: SRG111, SRG115. Co-requisites: BIO190, PSY101, SRG 121. Credit: 5 hours.
