Course Memo
This course will prepare the healthcare professional to assume the role of educator. Content is designed to impart an understanding of strategies and techniques for developing skills as an effective facilitator of learning. Basic concepts related to teaching and learning will prepare the healthcare provider to work with students or staff in the clinical and classroom settings. Issues surrounding the adult learner will be addressed. This course will address techniques for instructional design helpful for creating educational and training activities in the healthcare setting. Prerequisite: Admission to the program. Credit: 3 hours.
