Course Memo

This course is designed as a practicum that provides the student with the opportunity to apply first-level management/leadership skills in the healthcare industry. The student will analyze the duties of a leadership position, including: organizational structure, personnel interrelationships, and current challenges of the organization under the direction of a preceptor. The student will complete a managerial project as directed by their preceptor. Included in this course will be a 15-hour service-learning experience focusing on diversity in the healthcare setting. At the completion of this course, the student will understand the skills necessary for a leadership position in the healthcare setting. Prerequisite: HSL300. Credit: 3 Hours. (9 hours clinical).
